What Evelant Is

Evelant is a browser extension and web application that puts an AI assistant directly on the page you are reading. It can answer questions about the page, search the web for current information, summarize long articles, and hold a conversation that carries across tabs. Evelant supports multiple AI models, including Gemini, GPT, and Claude, so you can pick the one that fits the task in front of you.

The extension runs where you already work. Open it on an article, a documentation page, a pull request, or a product listing, and it reads that page as context so you do not have to paste anything in. Attach a PDF or drag an image straight from the page when a question needs more than text. Your conversation stays with you as you move between tabs, so research that spans ten pages is still one thread instead of ten separate chats.

Vision

We want Evelant to be the default way people get help online, whether that is reading a research paper, comparing prices, or debugging code. The browser is where most work already happens, and we think the assistant belongs there rather than in a separate app you have to go visit. As AI models get better, Evelant should get out of the way faster and let people focus on the work in front of them, not on the tool.

Mission

Our mission is to make useful AI available on any page without extra steps. No copying text into a separate window, no switching between five tools to finish one task. That goal shapes what we build and what we leave out.

Three commitments follow from that. You should be able to ask about what you are reading without describing it first, so the page stays in context. Gemini, GPT, and Claude each have different strengths, so switching between them stays a one-click decision rather than a lock-in. And Evelant should be there when you need it and invisible when you do not.

Those commitments are also how we decide what not to ship. A feature that adds another step, locks you into one provider, or puts more interface between you and the page is a feature we turn down.

Trust & Safety

An assistant that reads the page you are on is only useful if you trust what it does with that page. We designed Evelant around that fact, and the short version is this: we handle the minimum amount of your data needed to answer your question, and nothing more.

Evelant reads page content when you ask it to, not in the background. There is no silent collection of your browsing history, and the extension does not sit on every tab recording what you look at. When you send a prompt, that prompt and the page context it needs go to the one AI provider you selected for that request. Everything travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Your data is never used to train AI models. We configure every request to Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic with training disabled, which is the enterprise data setting those providers offer. We also do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not build advertising profiles from what you read.

You stay in control of what is stored. Chat history lives in your account until you delete it, and you can remove individual conversations or your entire account from your dashboard settings at any time. When you request account deletion, we remove your account data within 30 days. Billing records are the one exception, since financial regulations require us to keep them for seven years.

We are also direct about who else touches your data. Evelant runs on a small set of named service providers for database, authentication, payments, AI inference, and web search, and each one is contractually bound to protect what it handles. The full list, along with exactly what each provider receives, is published in our Privacy Policy. If something there is unclear, we would rather you ask us than guess.
